Step-by-Step Overview
Here's a step-by-step overview of the process that you will follow once you sign up and are using the PressParade System.

Important
When building a showcase profile, remember that YOU decide how much information is necessary to provide an informative profile of your accomplishments.  While some students may choose to include extensive school work samples and video clips, others may find that a basic profile is sufficient for their purpose.

Note that the sample profiles provided on this web site are examples of what you CAN include within your PressParade student profile.

Most importantly, keep in mind that PressParade is easy-to-use with the bulk of your time spent on collecting and uploading your content!

  1. Upon logging in, a Welcome page provides access to your Profile and other resources that explain the college admissions and recruiting process.

  2. From your Welcome page, select a Profile.  Your first step in building your Profile is modifying the look of your Profile's main page.  Add your name, school, background and inset pictures.  For the Profile's background, you can either upload pictures or select one from our standard library.

  3. Begin building your Profile's Bio.  Unlike a paper resume, your PressParade Bio can include text, multimedia, and links to supporting materials (e.g. unofficial transcripts, letters of recommendation, etc.).  Your Bio can even include a video introduction.  As you add data, preview the Bio to see how it looks.

  4. If you are using PressParade early in high school, you can take advantage of the Bio's planning mode to set college preparation and accomplishment goals.  Tag Bio items as "goals" to view them along side of your accomplishments.  This process prepares you to meet the admission requirements of your targeted schools.

  5. Upload photos and video clips to your Profile's Gallery folder.

  6. Capture news articles directly from the Internet, and upload these items to your Profile's News Articles/Documents folder.

  7. Upload school project documents (e.g. lab work, essays, key assignments) to your Profile's News Articles/Documents folder.  Add comments and reflections to communicate the significance of your academic work.

  8. As your Profile nears completion, review PressParade's Interactive Guides to better understand the admissions and recruiting process.

  9. When your Profile is complete, provide admissions personnel, recruiters, coaches,  friends, and family with a link to your pesonalized PressParade web site.

You can also use PressParade's integrated Communications Manager to directly send emails and track your promotional campaign events (i.e., emails, phone calls, meetings, etc.).

  10. Optionally, order professionally labeled CDs to include with applications or hand out at camps.
